About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Developer / Tech Lead experienced in CodeIgniter and Laravel frameworks to design, build, and scale backend systems for our educational technology platforms.
The ideal candidate will contribute both as an individual contributor and a technical lead, driving architecture, coding standards, and delivery excellence across multiple EdTech modules.
You will work closely with the frontend, product, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless, scalable e-learning experiences used by teachers, students, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain robust, modular backend systems for e-learning applications.
Contribute to architecture discussions and improvements in scalability, security, and performance.
Develop RESTful APIs and ensure integration between frontend and backend components.
Manage and optimize database schemas, indexing, and query performance (MySQL/MariaDB).
Implement authentication, role-based access, and secure data management modules.
Collaborate with frontend developers on UI integration and API contracts.
Lead and mentor junior developers—perform code reviews and maintain coding standards.
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment and testing.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and ensure high availability of systems.Document code, APIs, and workflows to support maintainability and collaboration.

Must-Have Skills:

4–7 years of PHP backend development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with CodeIgniter 3 and Laravel (latest version) frameworks.
Solid understanding of MVC architecture and modular system design.
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Strong SQL knowledge with MySQL/MariaDB, including query optimization.
Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
Experience with unit testing, debugging, and maintaining clean code repositories.
Familiarity with Bootstrap 5 and modern frontend integration workflows.
Exposure to AWS, cPanel, or VPS environments for deployment and scaling.
Good to HaveExperience with e-learning platforms or LMS systems.
Knowledge of video management, access control systems, and payment gateways.
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and modern DevOps workflows.
Understanding of microservices architecture and API versioning.
Experience in integrating AI-based automation or analytics dashboards.
